How to join the SDA

Becoming an SDA member is simple, just submit an application online or contact the SDA to request an application form.

Option 1 - Open Membership
The employer deducts the appropriate fee from your weekly wage and submits it to the SDA.

Option 2 - Closed Membership
You pay the appropriate fee directly to the SDA by EFTPOS or credit card to ensure your membership remains confidential. Payment methods include cash, cheque, money orders, EFTPOS and credit card.

The weekly union fees increased on 1st January 2005

• working 20 hours or more $7.40 per week
• working less than 20 hours and more than 10 hours $5.40 per week
• working less than 10 hours $3.30 per week
